Annual Run/Walk

Community Ministry sponsors a 5K walk along Bear Creek each year as a fundraiser. This years event will be held August 29, 2009. It starts at 9:00 AM at Bear Creek Park.  Onsite registration at 8:30, run 9:00, walk 9:05. Children 5 and under are Free, Under 18 and over 60 $15.00, Ages 19-59 $25.00. The walk concludes with prizes,a picnic, and other activities for the participants.For detailed information see our brochure.

The registration form also includes a Sponsor sheet, if you would like to raise sponsors for your run/walk.

 

School Supply Drive and Distribution

Each year Community Ministry helps more than 200 children prepare for school by providing backpacks and school supplies. Member churches, individuals and stores donate items.






Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Boxes

Community Ministry provides food boxes each Thanksgiving and Christmas above and beyond the regular food bank distribution. Food boxes include ingredients for a complete holiday dinner, including meat. Food comes from special item food drives hosted by supporting churches, donations from stores and other organizations.

Sharing Tree

Each year Community Ministry provides gifts for children in the area for Christmas. Nominations of children to receive gifts are made by family members, schools and churches. Each child receives up to $30.00 worth of Christmas gifts donated by private individuals.

Special Event Fund Raisers

Member churches are encouraged to organize fundraiser events for their congregations to support Community Ministry. These have included bake sales, car washes, garage sales, hosting groups for meals and donating proceeds to CM, selling King Soopers gift certificates etc.
