Where is Community Ministry located?

Community Ministry food, clothing bank and offices are located at 1755 S. Zuni. This is about 8 blocks East of Federal Blvd. and two blocks North of Jewell.

What are the food bank hours?

The Food Bank is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Tuesdat from 2-6 p.m.

How many times can I come to the food bank?

You may come FOUR (4) times per year.

Can I come two weeks in a row?

No, you must WAIT 30 DAYS between visits.

What information do I need to receive food?

For EVERY VISIT you must provide IDENTIFICATION and something with PROOF OF RESIDENCE such as a telephone bill, a public service bill or something that has the address of where you live now.

How often can I come if I am a senior citizen?

People 55 or older may come once a month. They must have identification and proof of address.

How often can I come if I am disabled?

The same rules apply as for everyone else unless you are 55 or over.

Do you have boundaries?

Yes, we serve families and individuals that live South of 6th Avenue, West of Broadway, and Southwest to the Denver City limits.

What if I don't live in that area?

Call the food bank at 303-934-0469 and you will be referred to a food bank in your area.

When is the clothing bank open?

The clothing bank is open on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Does the clothing bank have adult clothes?

No, the clothing bank only carries clothing for children 12 and under.

Do you have gas vouchers or bus tokens?

We have a limited supply of gas vouchers and bus tokens. Please call 303-934-0469 to see if any are available.

Do you help with utilities?

Occasionally we receive funds for utility assistance. You must first apply for LEAP money before we can help you.

Do you provide rent or other financial assistance?

No

I would like to volunteer at Community Ministry. How do I get started?

Call 303-935-3428 and leave your name, number and days you would be interested in volunteering. Also leave information on any special areas of interest you have such as working in the food bank, clothing bank, translating, office work etc. One of the staff members will call you and set up a time to take you for a tour and to interview you.

How can I donate money to Community Ministry?

Monetary donations may be made to Community Ministry.

What is the Commodities program?

The Commodity program helps families with children age six and under who are not on WIC and seniors 60 and over who meet the income guidelines.

What information is needed to apply for Commodities?

To apply or recertify you will need the following information:

Verification of birth for children up to six years old and proof of address.

When can I get Commodities food from the Community Ministry location?

Commodities are distributed on Fridays only from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. For other distribution locations and times call 303-375-8081.
